No. of times watched "Edge Of Reason": 12; No. of tequila shots on Sat night: 3 in 30 minutes; No. of "Bridget" moments this weekend: One really BIG one

Have watched "Edge Of Reason" at least 6 times all the way through. Have watched "bits" while forwarding through movie at least another 6 times. Ordered "Fever Pitch" but delivery has been delayed. Am looking forward to that because I love to see Colin Firth new different roles, like Trauma. Too bad cannot get that until June since it's a UK only release.

NOTE TO SELF: Must buy multi-region DVD player so that I can order UK released movies.

What luck! Am one of top 3 in NCAA basketball office pool. Final Four are IL vs. Lou and North Carolina vs. Mich. I picked IL to win the championship. V. lucky indeed!

Kitchen looks FABULOUS! Cabinets are almost all up. Hopefully they will be finished this week. Furniture will be delivered either this week or next.

Love text messages. Fabulous way of talking without having to...talk. Can send quick note to let one know that they are on one's mind. V. nice!

OH...look at horoscope for today:

Taurus

Daily extended (by Astrology.com)For the next few days, your main quest will be to decide what to do about a certain someone -- someone who seems to be putting just as much time, energy and thought into what to do about you. None of this will be visible to anyone who's not really looking, however. It's all going to be very clandestine. But anyone who knows and loves you will see what's going on, and probably be quite delighted for you.

V. interesting!

Must stop frequenting IMDB.com message boards, but cannot help it since there is no one out there who understands the need to chat about Colin Firth other than Firth fans.

Ok...lots of randomness. Need to go to restroom and back to work after lunch.

No. of times watched "Edge of Reason" last night: 2

Am in mad love with Colin Firth as Mark Darcy. The special features left much to be desired...thought there would be more. Was only THREE deleted scenes...but the one at the church for the christening was brutal. It was a great scene, but gut wrenching. It's that time where you just broke up with your significant other and have to attend an event where you both have to be at...and maybe the break up wasn't exactly complete or mutual, so the feelings are intense and unsaid. For a comedy...I think it really pushed the lines of emotion, but that may just be ME.

Anyway, Colin Firth...sexy older gent. mmm mmm MMM!

Must get back to work, or will not get anything done.

I GOT IT!

Now if this day would just be over so I can go home and WATCH IT!
BRIDGET JONES: EDGE OF REASON COMES OUT TODAY!!!!

That is all, carry on.

Have you ever just had a realization hit you over the head, even though it's been sitting there staring at you the ENTIRE TIME?

Yes, I've had that realization today. It's sad, really...and yes, I'm being vague yet again. But I will tell you that reality has a way of sneaking up on you in your nice carefree bubble and bursting it so that you hit the ground so fucking hard that you have no alternative but to just shake your head, dust yourself off and get on with it. PLUS, you then have the nagging feeling of kicking yourself over and over, wondering why you just didn't think about it before, and again, realize that you just didn't want to realize it before.

It's always safer to dillute yourself than to actually face the reality that you've been just kidding yourself the entire time. There IS no situation. It's a non-situation.

Harder still is going back in time, looking at all the things you thought were what it was at the time it was happening, only to realize it wasn't.

So now I'm angry. I'm mostly angry at myself for being so fucking blind.

Thank GOD "Edge of Reason" comes out tomorrow. I need something to take the edge off of this feeling.
Countdown to release of "Edge Of Reason": ONE WHOLE day!

GAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

One whole day until release of "Edge of Reason"! Dear LORD, cannot stand the anxiety...is too much for one to handle!

Weekend was pretty good, fairly uneventful. Kitchen electrical work is almost complete. Cabinets to go in today, and dry lay of tile work.

Am going to also be working on a new business. Will be v. good if takes off. Will not say what it is yet, but am v. excited of prospects! Maybe can retire by 40...one can only hope!

Was supposed to go to party on Sat night, but was v. tired and fell asleep. Woke up at 6am. Oops! Went to church for Palm Sunday and had buffet at Barona with mum.

Lots of calls from lovely friends this weekend. Ten went skiing in Utah. Toffee also called. A work friend called to find out why I didn't go to the party on Saturday. Gidget called, too...wanted to go out shopping yesterday, but she called during church. When I called back, she didn't answer...that's why I went to Barona to eat instead. Too bad UNLV didn't ring. But with the events he and I have gone through since January, I believed it would be good to give him some breathing room from me. I know him, and he needs it.

OH! Ten was laughing at me because she gave me a v. cute Liz Claiborne purse for my knitting, with big pockets and 2 places for a photo. There is one large photo window in the front, and a smaller keychain sized one in the shape of a heart. Forgot that I said I'd put a picture of she and I in the larger window, and when I told her what I put...I didn't even have to say it. I said, "Guess what I put in the picture window of the purse you got me?" She said, "NO, YOU DIDN'T!" I said, "Yes...I did!"

Is Colin Firth in bubble bath...mmmmmmm!

Tonight will be last night to watch "Bridget Jones" until new DVD tomorrow. Cannot believe that highlight of one's existance is release of a new "Bridget Jones" movie...but also realize with the year self has gone through, should be thankful that there is nothing else traumatic happening.

Countdown to release of "Edge Of Reason": 5 days; Day 1 of "March Madness" (college basketball); My picks for final 4: Illinois vs. Wash and NC vs. Duke; National championship picks: Illinois vs. Duke

Am eating v. disgusting looking GREEN frosted Krispy Kreme doughnut in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Must close eyes and just eat.

I actually joined the NCAA basketball pool at work. Don't even really care, but it was only $5 to join in, so I did it. Picks listed above for those who care.

Watched "Girl With A Pearl Earring" last night. Missed quite a bit when I viewed it the first time. Did not realize true sexiness of Mr. Firth as Vermeer. Didn't even mind long hair...sort of.

Have gotten workload down just a bit this morning. Still quite a ways to go...

Haven't decided whether or not to actually chop all of my hair off, or just layer it. Have always liked short bob cut in manner of Louise Brooks (silent film star famous for page boy hair cut), but also like longer hair. Dilemma...yes.

Why oh WHY did spell check tell me to replace "Disgusting" with "Disgusting"?? Is it NOT the same?

Oh...it was telling me to replace it with a capital "D". I see. I will defy spell check.

Am trying to avoid getting back to work, but cannot. I have reports due.

Am going to a St. Patty's Day party tonight. Corned beef, cabbage, potatoes, Irish beer and Guiness Bananas Foster! By the luck of the Irish I will be sober tonight, haha!

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Countdown to release of "Edge Of Reason": 6 days

http://neighborhoodies.com/catalog/default.php

Have decided that when it's time to go shopping again, am going to purchase custom made shirt and ski sweatshirt. Above link is where said clothing items will be purchased. Am going to be v. silly and custom create items relating to Mr. Darcy. Not sure if this is silly or obsessive, so must keep thinking about it before ACTUALLY doing it. May regret purchase later, may not.

Should have slept in today.

HURAAAAH! Kitchen has been painted! Is wonderful light grey color. Cabinets will be put up today before contractor friend will be off to Texas tomorrow. Said he would be back on Saturday to finish.

Getting hair cut on Saturday FINALLY. Am TIRED of long (well, long for me) hair, and am going to chop it all off (well, not really...but close).

Ok, lunch almost over. Need to buy stamps.

Sorry so boring :)

GAAAAH! Have suddenly become V. BUSY at work! Since having become "credentialed", have received request after request to do one project after the next...and I know it is because my co-workers who have recently become promoted are trying to make sure I also am promoted during the next cycle. Am flattered, but am feeling overwhelmed!

Only 1 more week until release of "Edge of Reason"...

GAAAH...nearly late for ANOTHER meeting!

Song on iPod right now: "Not of This Earth" by Robbie Williams; No. of loads of laundry completed this weekend: 3

Lots of work got done on the house this weekend. Texturing and some painting done, so hopefully it will be done by this weekend. We have furniture for the living room coming at the end of March, so will be v. nice to get everything done so self can use stove for the first time in 3 months!

Went to Ten's co-worker's birthday bash at a place called Galileos in Downtown. V. nice chill restaurant/night club, but the parking is horrible! There is a mini-soap opera/romantic comedy in the process with one of Ten's friends. It's a case of "I didn't know you liked me, TOO!" situation, and it's always fun to be witness to that.

Note: Ten says in her blog that there are more juicy details to divulge. Will call her tonight!

Was a lazy weekend. Lot's of laundry and untangling of yarn. Tried finishing my sister's scarf and ended up in huge tangled mess. Ended up cutting yarn in 3 places just to save the yarn...did not want to go out and buy ANOTHER skien of yarn when I can just piece together all the one's that I have. Will not break the pattern and will be v. nice scarf...I hope!

UNLV and I have made birthday plans. Going to Vegas for opening of Wynn hotel. Did not try to get a room because they are WAY overpriced. May 7-8 for ONE NIGHT is $650! GAAAAH! So have decided to just go up there for opening on April 28 and stay for weekend. Will be nice mini-break.

Just got paid, and am overjoyed that can go SHOPPING in 2 more weeks! Have been buying DVD's, and do not count that as shopping. Shopping to ME is clothing, shoes, and purse shopping. Don't know if that's just an excuse, but nevertheless...I am going through withdrawals, and I am tired of seeing friends cute outfits and cannot buy ANYTHING!

HURRAH! "Edge of Reason" is released next Tuesday. Have been trying to decide whether or not to bite the bullet and buy it online for possible delivery to home on day of release, or if it's better to just go to Walmart and buy it that day (March 22). I know self, and am TOO anxious to wait for it in the mail. Will make plan to go to Walmart and buy it there. Yes.

NEW Colin Firth DVD to lust after...mmmm...

Lunch almost over...must dash!

Page no. I am finally on in "Pride & Prejudice": 329 (what would have been right after the famous pond scene in the miniseries)

I WANT A SODDING HAMBURGER!

Of all bloody days for it to be a meatless Friday...on the very day I wish to have a hamburger....GAAAAAAGH!

Ok, off to meeting.

Tuesday, March 08, 2005

I'm going to abandon the Bridget Jones style of writing today in light of the anniversary of my father's passing yesterday.

UNLV came down on Friday and we went to dinner, which was cut short due to the weather. We vowed to make up for lost time on Saturday night after the luncheon.

Saturday was the luncheon. 107 people showed up, and it was nice. Then Ten, UNLV, my cousin and I all went out to Alibi and all around Hillcrest. As Ten had stated, it was a very Vegas weekend...what happens in Hillcrest stays in Hillcrest I dare say. UNLV almost couldn't make it because he was helping his mom move stuff, but after a little bit of time and arranging of schedules...he made it work and was very glad he could make it. It really was tons of fun just laughing and drinking.

Sunday, my mom, Aunt and I all went to church, then went to Barona. Then yesterday, my sister, mom and Aunt all went to church then we went to lunch and visited my dad's grave. We then headed to my work to check out my office, went shopping, went to my sister's work and then went to Barona AGAIN.

I can't believe a year snuck up on me like that. I guess living week to week really has worked, because it still feels like it was yesterday...but I know that it has truly been a year. So much has happened.

I miss my dad so much. I don't think I realized again just how much until this weekend. I saw all the people at his luncheon, and almost everyone we invited showed up. We didn't invite too many people, although 107 people does seem like a lot. But considering about 400+ people showed up for my sister's wedding, 107 is definitely small.

I can't type too much about the sadness of it all right now because I'm at work, and I just can't handle it, but I will be thinking about it all this month. After March 16th, it will begin that year of the first year anniversaries that didn't involve my dad, if that makes any sense. We burried him on March 16, so March 17 means that was the first day of my life without him...

No. of promotions at job: 0

Shit. Did not get promotion that I thought I would get. Went to talk to a trusted superior, and she was suprised as well.

My aunt is arriving tonight. Kitchen still not in any sort of working order, although more progress was made than ever on it.

Duran Duran concert was SUPERB. Madrid got me an autographed poster, yay! If only self could post pictures from the concert to show my cousin with Duran Duran. Don't want to download unnecessary software to work computer.

Dont know what to say really. Have been in a haze for awhile now. Can't believe it's been a year since my father passed away.
