Ok, I am in love with JD Fortune (aka Jason Dean Bennison).

Well, how about hott monkey lust, how's that?

I think I watched the "Rockstar: INXS" finale at least 4 or 5 times this weekend because I finally figured out how to record on the DVD/VCR that we got earlier this summer. I just wish I figured that out on Thursday so that I could have recorded INXS on Ellen and The Late Late Show. Oh well. At least I saw The Late Late show. I'm going to have to catch Ellen on Oxygen, but not record it.

Ten was laughing at me, saying JD was the latest infatuation, which he is. But it's different from Colin Firth because I can actually meet JD, and I will never meet Colin Firth. Not that anything would happen with JD once I do meet him, but who cares. It's all in good fun, and I have to see if he's as hott in person as he was on Rockstar.

It's the whole "I rooted for him from day one" reality show gig. That's the weird part of it all. They are real human beings, not characters. And you don't know them, but you were on their side when it was all happening, that you feel a connection.

The fortunate (no pun intended!) of the whole O-Town thing was that I got in very early and was able to make an actual connection with them. I don't have the time, nor the energy to do it for JD, but damnit I wish I did.

I was thinking, too...since I was in Canada so much lately that I may have seen him on one of the subways. Why you ask? JD was a panhandler for a spell...and he did it in Toronto. I had given money to many a subway crooner over the summer. I think I even told one guy how great he was and dropped a tooney or looney in there.

What if one of those people was JD?

Nah, he was too hott to go unnoticed.

I would love to meet him, though. I'm diggin' "Pretty Vegas" a lot. They're shooting the video this weekend, but one wonders if they're going to shoot it IN Vegas.

If I wasn't so mad at UNLV right now, I may decide to call him and tell him to be on the lookout. He's doing one of his disappearing acts again, and I'm just not going to care right now. He's supposed to come down next week, and he's not letting me know what's going on.

Whatever.

Ok, so I only emailed him yesterday about it. Still...

Back to JD. *sigh*

I KNEW he was "roit" for "Our Band"...I just knew it. Here's what I said (7/20/05):

I like JD because he creates his own arrangements, he's got the look and loves INXS. I feel that he can pull off being the front man without trying to be Michael Hutchence. And the band loved the fact that he's working with the house band because they need their singer to work with them, and not just take them for granted that they are "support". The other singers will be front men with a legendary band behind them as backing. JD will be a part of the band.

Wow. Not one thing about his hottness, lol.

JD FORTUNE is the NEW LEAD SINGER FOR INXS!

Yes fans, it's true! My prediction was SPOT ON from DAY ONE (please see my entry for July 20, 2005), and it was AMAZING to watch him sing "What You Need". It was like INXS reborn.

JD is HOTT. I'm sorry to whither into a little teeny bopper girl, but he is. As someone quoted on a message board, "He came on stage and my panties went POOF!"

Dear LORD he has that THANG. He is so cute, and so sexy, and a singer with a voice that not only fits their back catalog, but will be great for their new songs, too....and he is so very what I hoped INXS would pick. When Tim Farris said, "JD......(incredibly LONG pause, then shakes his head).....YOU ARE ROIT* FOR OUR BAND!"

*There is an on-going joke with the Aussie accent for "right"

I'm just so happy, and I can't wait to see them on tour starting January 2006. Oh, and they ARE COMING TO SAN DIEGO!!

It's 10:26 am. I'm at work. I should have gone to the ROCKSTAR INXS finale. I won 2 tickets, and I contemplated leaving for LA this morning, and now that I think about it, I should have gone.

I would have arrived before 9am. If I got in, I would have been out of there by noon. I would have been home by 3pm. I wouldn't have cared if I got to meet anyone, I just wanted to be THERE.

To me, that is history in the making.

Alas, I have to wait until tonight...or try to find spoiler sites. Maybe for once I will wait for the results as it happens.

91X has also made a comeback. They bought themselves away from Clear Channel and are as independent as when they started. I didn't realize that I had actually been listening as long as they have been on the air. I started listening in the 8th grade. The reason I remember that is because I was in CCD, and I had heard The Alarm on the radio and thought "Wow, I like this station." That's where I heard Depeche Mode and INXS for the first time ever.

I called them and told them that, so I got on the air, too.

God, I wish I had gone to see Rockstar INXS. I ususally just get up and go to these things, and this was one of those times that I should have just gone.

Damnit.

It has been awhile, hasn't it? I didn't think that I would be THAT bad at keeping up, but I guess when one gets really busy...

Highlights:

THE BABY

My little niece can tell it's my voice! Well, I think she can....I said bye to her the other day (into my sister's stomach of course), and she moved a lot. I'm SO excited!! I am the ONLY true auntie. I have no brothers or sisters in law. IT'S JUST ME, whoo hoo!

THE CHARGERS

Yes, friends...that crazy 2005 football season has begun. My Chargers, off to an interesting start against Dallas. They lost, but not without looking good...I know that sounds stupid, but if you knew my Chargers, then you would understand.

COLDPLAY

What an awesome band. I saw them 8/26/05. They absolutely sound better than their album, hands down. Chris Martin is totally self depricating, but in a humerous way. Just don't EVER have a "special cookie"* prior to anything that you really want to be conscious for. Other than that, wonderful company (friend from work), awesome band, and spectacular venue (Coors Amphitheater).

*Please also refer to the definition of "special brownie". If I have to explain what a "special browine" is then you defenitely do not deserve to have it defined for you.

THE QUILT

What's THAT about, you ask? I handmade...yes, you are reading correctly...HANDMADE a quilt for Madrid's baby shower. I have never made a quilt before that, but I didn't have time to knit one, so I had to make something. There was no way that I could just buy something for her new boy. I'll have to say that I did a pretty damn good job.

THE HOUSE

It is looking very pretty and it's just the bathrooms left. My mom agreed to use the spare room as "Craft Central"! I will be buying storage bins for my stamps and paper, and the sewing machine will also go in there, too. Anything kinda "left over" will be housed in that room.

THE BLOCK PARTY

What a day! Fun for everyone, and everyone enjoyed the house. LOTS of compliments. My relatives couldn't believe it was the same house. I guess it was so dark that you couldn't see any of the existing features because everyone kept asking if we added the sliding doors, sky light, arched opening between the kitchen and family room, and the fireplace! The spaces are so much more open now that you can see everything. Lots of compliments for the contractor, and for the decorator (moi!).

JOHN MAYER TRIO

Oh. My. God.

Critics: step aside and welcome in a new guitar legend.

My ONLY 2 complaints for the day: WHAT THE FUCK WITH MY CHARGERS LOSING TO DALLAS, and "Hey John, Greg Brady called and wants his hairstyle back!"

Other than that, a great time at the San Diego House of Blues with awesome friends (from the My Stupid Mouth message board...BIG SHOUT OUT TO TrudyESP, HotAsh, Sabatnoogen, Pearl, and SUCKER4U. What an awesome venue.

MY JOB

ARGH. Didn't get promoted...yet. I threatened to leave if something doesn't happen by the year end review, and suddenly I have meeting requests to go over ways that I can be promoted. Whatever.

ROCKSTAR INXS

The following song is completely and totally stuck in my head. It was written by my fave to win, JD Fortune, along with Andrew Ferris of INXS.

PRETTY VEGAS

Fallin’ asleep at the wheel again baby,
You’re driftin’ over the line.
You’re hands are tied, but you’re losin’ grip quickly
Fix me, can you read the sign…

Thumbin’ your way to Vegas, dirty
Dreamin’ of the other side…
Save your tears and laughter because
It doesn’t matter what you find

It ain’t pretty
After the show…
It ain’t pretty when the pretty leaves you
With no place to go.
So, if you think you need it,
Here’s the place to feed it…
It ain’t pretty.

When, everything that you do is wrong,
And you
Feel like you can barely survive…
When those around you
Are crumblin’ downwards
Buried in the sunset of life.

Thumbin’ your way to Vegas, dirty
And screamin’ like a bitch from hell,
Save your dreams
Up your patience
Doesn’t matter what you sell…

It ain’t pretty
After the show
It ain’t pretty when the pretty leaves you
With no place to go…
So, if you think you want it…
Here’s the place to get it,
It ain’t pretty

Yeah, yeah, yeah
It ain’t pretty…
Yeah, yeah, yeah

Thumbin’ your way to Vegas, dirty
Dreamin’ like you’re out of control,
Save your tears and laughter
Because this is the ride…
And this is the show…

It ain’t pretty
After the show…
It ain’t pretty when the pretty leaves you
With no place to go
So, if you think you want it
Just come in and get it
It ain’t pretty…

Honorable mentions:

- 9/11 was spent at the John Mayer Trio concert, and he played "Covered In Rain". If you are a JM fan, then you know what it means to hear that song on that day. I can't go into too much detail, because I was in Washington DC during 9/11. Still stings to think about it.

- Visited Wednesday in LA during Labor Day. Very fun filled day full of shopping and organic apple pie.

-UNLV couldn't make it to the Block Party, but he will be coming down for my great aunt's birthday. It will be SO NICE to see him. I've missed him a lot.

-Can anyone have tapas WITHOUT sangrias?! Ten and I did, and it sucked. We WILL have tapas with sangrias, by God.

-Just wanted to mention my dad. I need to visit him.

Ok kids, that's all for now. Rock on.
